We stayed in Valletta and tried to understand Malta by public bus. The plan looked simple on paper; the days were less predictable. Waiting, changing direction and watching the island through the window became part of the trip rather than time between destinations.
What stayed with me was the contrast: pale limestone against very blue water, grand interiors behind quiet façades, and conversations that made December feel warmer than the weather suggested.
Popeye Village was the playful ending — a film set that had outlived the film and become its own curious little place.
