the life you wanted to leave
not regret—just grief for something irreplaceable. One day, you'll miss the life you're currently trying so hard to move on from—not because it was perfect, but because you didn't know you were living a version of your life you'd never get back.
You will remember the cramped kitchen, the difficult commute and the friends who showed up uninvited with takeout. You were still becoming someone, and the discomfort was the friction shaping you.
It is not regret. It is mourning for the fact that you were living inside something irreplaceable and did not recognize it while it was happening.
