the streets you missed

you flew back for the parts of yourself you left there.

One day, you'll walk the streets you spent years missing, and you'll realize it was never just a country you longed for—it was the version of yourself that only existed here.

You will notice your shoulders dropping and your walk slowing. You will remember how effortless it once felt to be yourself without translating your language, humor or instinct.

You did not fly halfway across the world only to see a country again. You flew back to find the parts of yourself folded quietly into these streets.
