No Last Conversation
sometimes their absence already said it all.Sometimes silence is the answer, the loudest thing someone can say without saying anything at all.
You keep waiting for the conversation that would explain everything, the moment they'd call and say “let's talk about this,” the closure you think you need to finally let go.
But it never comes.
And somewhere in that absence, in that space where explanation should have lived, you find your answer anyway,
they didn't care enough to clear it up, didn't care enough to see you hurting, didn't care enough to fight for whatever this was, whatever you thought this could have been.
That silence tells you everything words never could.
It tells you that closure isn't a conversation you're owed, it's a conclusion you're capable of reaching on your own.
You don't need their explanation to understand what happened. You don't need their apology to know you deserved better. You don't need one last conversation to know this one is over.
Sometimes the ending isn't a slammed door, it's a door that was left open, one nobody bothered to walk back through, and eventually you have to be the one to close it,
not out of anger, but out of peace, out of finally understanding that some people show you who they are by everything they don't do, by every effort they don't make, by every silence they choose over you.
You don't need the last word. Their absence already said it all.
